<DIV>Hey guys, I just did my first raid last night... I did a couple with a great guild on the oasis server! And the last raid I did was the CoD instance, with the big bad dragon... We were 18 ppl, around lvl 50, I am a 48 wizzie and there was a warlock with us... After reading all the post, I said to myself, i'm gonna be mana feeding all night, bouh!! Guess what, I did not do that at all, I had a tremendous time... </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The strategy here is simple: DEBUFF DEBUFF DEBUFF DEBUFF, nuke, nuke nuke, rinse and repeat... When I was doing that, there was 2 big 50 lvl guardian tanks in front... One of them died, the other LOST AGGRO AND THE DRAGON WENT STRAIGHT TO ME.... Woohoo, that mean I did enough nuking on the dragon in CoD to make a guardian loose aggro... And let me tell you... when it comes to tanking... guardian are the best for a wizzie!... I died in the process.. LOL, but it was worthed!!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I had a very succesfull night raiding, and was quite happy doing so, I got a couple of resist... but nothing a good debuff wont take care of, almost 70% of my spells were landing properly....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>From a very happy raiding nuker</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Zeheenae 48 Wizzie</DIV> <DIV>Oasis server</DIV>

are you taking note of how much damage your spells do? its easy for them to land, but when they do 20% of how much they are suppose to do they are virtually worthless. only thing you raid drakotas? they are a little different resist-wise when compared to the daily instances <div></div>

<P>What about 867 dmg (max damage I did on him) on <SPAN class=capitalize>Mjolni, the Bringer of Storms </SPAN>with ball of flame, 450 average per tick with immolation...</P> <P> </P> <P>If <SPAN class=capitalize>Mjolni is your daily mob, let me know... LOL, BTW it is the CoD instance high lvl instance, have you EVER been there...</SPAN></P> <P><SPAN class=capitalize></SPAN> </P> <P><SPAN class=capitalize>Zeheenae wizzie 48</SPAN></P> <P><SPAN class=capitalize>OASIS</SPAN></P>

<P>Good job <SPAN class=capitalize>Zeheenae =)</SPAN></P> <P><SPAN class=capitalize>Out of curiosity, have you guys tried the Firemyst Gully Drakota instance? If not, be prepped for a surprise lol. That's a fun one. you face 3 ^^^ type drakotas all at once.</SPAN></P> <P><SPAN class=capitalize>*hint* </SPAN></P> <P><SPAN class=capitalize>Only one of them is the full power version. The other 2 are much weaker than they appear.</SPAN></P>

<P>glad you had fun, the drakotas been good to us. we can hit them with most if not all of our spells. when you read about most of the 50s raiding wizards, they complain about epic encounter zones, most contested mobs, those are immune to ice comet and some other damage spells. which lowers our dps greatly.</P> <P>drakotas are 5, 6, 7 day timers? i forgot, we only do them once a week. when you raid the other zones on a nightly basis, you can get frustated after awhile.</P>

<DIV>I think it's a 6 day timer if i'm not mistaken. My guild raids on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and we usually shake things up a bit and try something different each day, so I'm not actually sure on the lockouts. </DIV>

It is not every raid a wizard is no good on, but just a majority of them. If they just balanced the resistances of the mobs then we would be great on raids. I don't mind a few mobs being resistant to my attacks, but 85% of them is just plain silly.

Once you've fought more epic mobs you'll see that 75-80% (or more) is immune or highly resistant to your nukes and no ammount of debuffing is going to help you there. So i hope you like feeding or you wont stay "</span>a very happy raiding nuker" <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

Not to mention a mob that can only be fought once per week, has no loot, and is a part of a quest leading to a tough battle with some of the worst fabled loot off any epic. My guild still does all the drakota / Darathar, but it really is a complete waste of time.

raiding can be alot of fun, there are times when you will end up being a mana battery though... but there are many more times you'll spend most of your time nuking. Gratz on your first raid though, thats what eq2 is all about... having fun <div></div>

It's all about the field mobs now.</span><div></div>
