<DIV>I was so very excited to gain a new level and get my new spell protoflame.  I got the little ding to tell me I had a new spell and I could not wait for the next battle to try out Protoflame.  I use the spell and *resist*.  So I think hmmm first time using it I'll give it a try again.   Cast the spell *resist* so I start to think I am doing something wrong.  But no I'm not doing anything wrong.  It is resisted by everything that is green to red.  Oh it works okay on gray stuff and then it does about 4-6 points of Damage.  Which when I used it on a slug in the peat bog and only did 4 points of damage I had to laugh.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I went on the boards and found that this spell has been broken for quite awhile and that others have experienced this.  I just want to say that it sucks to wait like 48 levels or so to get a spell that does 4-5 points of damage on grays and is resisted by everything else.  Can someone please tell me why this has not been fixed?  I've put in a bug report for all the good it will do.  What do we need to do to get this spell fixed?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

EVERY single spell is being reviewed atm. sony are aware of the problem with protoflame (devs have responded) and im sure it will be fixed, but not til all the spells have been done along with the combat changes. <div></div>

the official word is soon but not before the ap is released. they've also said they would have hoped it would be on test by now. so im guessing it'll be on test a few weeks after the ap is released and then 3-4 weeks before it goes live. <div></div>

true, it is a long time but id rather they did it once and did it well rarther than rushing a botched version to live and pi**ing about with it for weeks. <div></div>

I don't know about specific spell changes, however per the test board, the combat changes have been in place on the test server for several weeks now.

no, the early stages of some of the combat changes WERE on test, and they removed some of those a month or so back because of problems.  The rework of spells/abilities has not been released to test yet, the stuff on test is more general changes, like mob health and whatnot <div></div>

<DIV>If you look that spell requires a decent skill in subjugation, when I first got it I noticed that all my subjugation spells where being resisted, then I noticed that my subjugation skill was only like 120 or so ....now it's up to about 205 (i know, I know that's still sad) and it hits much more!  Just a suggestion but, start casting any and all subjugation spells every single fight to get those skills up and it should start to hit more frequently.</DIV>

my subjugation is and has always been maxed and each PF only hits for 4-5 dmg a tick and the explosion only hits for ~70. PF is still broken. <div></div>

PF being broken (and ignored by the devs, hiding behind the convenient promise of all-encompassing changes in the apparently distant future) isn't even the most blatant insult regarding this spell.  Other mages who can cast add-on pets receive fun bonuses if they acquire the Master I versions.  Conjurers get a shark added to their swarm of fish.  Warlocks (!) get their little critter turned into a nightblood!  Guess what Wizards get?  Nothing.  Nada.  100% identical to Adept III.  And I will guarantee you, here and now, that in three months' time when the spell fixes are finally in place, this insult not have changed one iota.

An insult? When people start talking like this, it's time for them to take a break.Insult? How is it an insult? Rather then take this tone, why not post what you would like? Would you like Master 1 to look like fire elementals? The fact that a spell doesn't get a graphic upgrade for the master 1 isn't an insult.

<P>As far as a time frame goes, I think of the wizard of Oz,</P> <P>Somewhere over the rainbow.....</P>

It's really quite simple.  Give every mage class but Wizards a fun bonus associated with the Master I version of a spell, simultaneously make the Wizard rendition of said spell the only patently broken one, and add to the mix the none-too-inconspicuous general regard of the Wizard class as a whole as being in need of the greatest adjustments out of all the classes, and you have: insult.  Specifically, the type of insult one adds to injury.  In short, with all the other crap Wizards have been dealing with for half a year, this glaring omission is quite simply the icing on the cake, serving to underscore SOE's apparent vendetta against the class.  Melodramatic, to be sure, but it's a conclusion that is drawn almost inevitably, until and unless the class is fixed thoroughly.

You have gone over the edge and need to take a break. There is no outside force making SoE have wizards. There is no law, no rule nothing. The idea they put a class in to purposely destroy it is so amazingly...Wizards do not need the greatest adjustment. There are other classes that need far more work then wizards. Enchanters and Summoners have far more issues and broken spells then wizards do.On top of that, your insult is about a cosmetic aspect of the game. The appearance one spell takes.Oh and they know protoflame is broken. How many times do people have to say, don't expect any fixes to spells because we are not spending time doing this, only to have to go and change the spells again. It's broken and it's not going to get fixed outside of the revamp. This doesn't apply to just wizards, it applies to ALL spells for ALL classes.Seriously, your not helping by saying we are being insulted and that SoE has a vendetta against us.

Well the spell and combat changes are well underway and this spell is still broken. I suggest anyone in test or beta posts in appropriate forum to bring it to their attention. Unless a lot of fuss is mafe they will do their usual trick of conveniently forgetting about it, or saying it will be fixed in some future expansion pack. Certainly doesn't look like it's being fixed for DOF. <div></div>
