I did a search on the forums for this and had most of my questions answered except this one. Does anyone know if the lost of 17 int (which is what happens if you use HoT instead of DS) is worth the 1% potential damage increase HoT is suppose to give. This is the only reason I can figure why they chose to have this not buff the int stat like its predecesor. I have adept 1 on both currently but I am looking at upgrading DS to adept 3 since I can now scribe in and mined a paladium cluster the other night. However if the proc affect on the HoT is worth the loss of 42.5 on the power pool (calculation based on 2.5 power per int above 100 int) then i will scribe another adept 3 I can sell for coin. If anyone has actually played with this using a parser and you have data to post, that would be much appreciated.

Use both of them.    HotT has less Int, but more Str.   If you use both of them you will get the Int from DS and the Str from HotT.  Besides what else are you going to use that 5th slot for?

Point taken.  I thought I didn't see the any stats change when I played with this, but I will check it again tonight.  Thanks for the input and I will be upgrading dazzling seal to adept 3.

I am pretty sure they don't stack. I will have to check tonight when I login.

they stack in the way that DS will give the difference in int bonuses when casted after HoT <div></div>

<P>They do stack.  Just open the stat window.</P> <P>First put on DS and then HotT.   You will keep the same INT, but your Heat resist and STR will go up.</P>

It doesnt matter when you cast them, You will get the higher of each one, So you will get the int from DS and the heat mit and proc from Hot, Test it your self, Bring up your persona window and cast hot. then cast DS you will see your int go up, Now cancel Hot and your heat mit will go down and then reacast Hot and your hit mit will go back up. I am assuming that the proc stays as long as hot is up but i havent noticed it. <div></div>

<div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div>I just tested. Order does not matter.  Greater value overrides : Intelligence : +35 (from DS) Strengh : allways got 24/26 (from HoT) Heat mit.: 600/700 (from HoT) if you cancel one spell, you still have all effects from the other, for example canceling DS gives you intelligence back to +21/26 (HoT effect) I tested all the buff I can cast on me. They ALL stack, only DS and HoT override each other at the best of the 2 : Intelligence is modified by DS, then Descry and ring of intelligence Cold by Snow filled, Augmentation, Ice gift Heat by Snow filled, HoT, Augmentation, Ice Gift Magic by Augmentation and Ice Gift <p>Message Edited by ailees on <span class=date_text>06-09-2005</span> <span class=time_text>07:50 AM</span>
