I have gone ahead and posted a couple parses from my guilds raids on our site publically viewable. It takes a bit of time to post each parse as I have to cut and paste and combine them into one graphic due to how Statalyzer displays the information, so Ill update it as often as I have the time to. It's basically showing that Monks are the best DPS class in the game at 50. Scouts are right behind, sometimes ahead, depending on the situation. Wizards are falling in third place or further back. Shadowknights actually deal more DPS than Wizards do on raids if you add there pet DPS with theres. Im hoping after I post parses from every raid encounter in the game people will finally wake up and make some changes that the game really needs. I have no idea why SoE can not do this themselves, other than total apathy on their part. Unfortunately my guild does not have a single warlock, being as the server is low pop and Warlocks are hard to find. So, warlocks will sit out of these parses. So far, Im only posting the top 3-5 or so. If it becomes popular, Ill post the whole list. <div></div>
ok statlizer is crap for DPS on a basic lvl the way it does things is it assumes that each ability will be used more than once and calculates the DPS for each ability then averages all the abilitys. this works if you use each ability more than once. if you only use an ability once in a fight it will show up as doing the DPS of how ever much dmg that ability delt, and then average that with all the rest. try casting a high DMG spell only once and youll see your DPS skyrocket I would suguest useing combat stats. it keeps a running tab on how much dmg a person is doing durring a fight then devideds by how much time has pased since the start of the fight(not when you started fighting BTW). although not as detailed as stata its more accurate <div></div>

Welcome to raid content, its all highly resistant to ice and fire. Specialy the ant epic I can't hit anything for crap. the only mobs in the game I seem to parse well with is Venekor. On venekor I parse highest out of all other classes. Alot of those epic encounters are both resistant to fire and completely immune to ice. Just have to deal with it, some situations (alot) we are not top, gratz. <div></div>

Yeah, I haven't seen consistently believable DPS statistics from any of the several parsers out there, and people use them all the time. The fact that he lists Wizards as "third" is particularly suspicious, since the reality of Wizard DPS can be identified in real-life scenarios. And has been mentioned here and in other threads, there are very, very few raid encounters where a Wizard is permitted a maximization of their potential - indeed, 25-50% of their potential is typical, and by no means the worst case.

If you look at the final DPS figures, it takes total damage done and divides it by time. It does not calculate DPS the way youre saying it does, take a calculator out before making false claims. You can try to say that Wizards are limited from there potential and that is why DPS is low... Indeed it is, that is one of our main problems. However, some of these mobs are Crush immune, or slash immune, or pierce immune, and highly resistant in another. You can see what the Monk was using, and still outdpsing other classes. It wasnt crush for one of them. Anyway, Im going to post every raid mob in the game since my guild kills them all. That way you can see that its across the board, resistances or not. <div></div>

<DIV>I have used both Statalyzer and CombatStats and have made good experiences with both.</DIV> <DIV>DPS seems to vary much more with the type of mob than depending on the parser I use.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On the other hand its great that they make some mobs resistant to certain attacks - that makes </DIV> <DIV>it take some more skill to play a wizard. The problem is that they gave us wizzies nothing else that fire and ice</DIV> <DIV>to fight them with. Give us a wider range of damage type please :smileyvery-happy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>One idea would be to keep us masters of fire and ice, but add some weaker poison attacks from</DIV> <DIV>the Warlock range of spells. Conversely Warlocks would be given weaker versions of our spells. </DIV> <DIV>That way, there is still a difference between warlocks and wizzies, but we can still perform reasonably</DIV> <DIV>on any type of mob.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by masseman on <span class=date_text>05-04-2005</span> <span class=time_text>05:17 AM</span>

The main problem with compairing melee to spells is the Monk could just switch from crush weapons to percing weapons but the Wizard can't. Sure he can cast Fire nukes if it's imune to Ice but that doesn't make up for it like meleers.. But thats part of the game and you have to learn to live with it.. <div></div>

<P>Usually warlocks are about the same as shadow knights on raids and wizards are about 5 or 10dps behind us. </P> <P>NIce work.</P>

Posted parses from Arch Lich and King Zalak. Both are Ice Immune, but get used to it because nearly everything is. I ended up behind the main tank in DPS on King Zalak. (Our main tank is uber as hell, but still its embarassing as a wizard.) Shadowknights are actually good DPS, I havent added together there pet DPS with theirs, but it pushes them above scouts in a lot of situations. Were killing Darathar and Deception drakotas again tonight, so Ill post those parses tomorrow. As a disclaimer, its not like I dont have good gear, or mana regen. Its that due to resistances and how melee upgrade DPS so quickly with good equipment, while Wizard DPS stays the same. For example, even if I was in a group with a bard, had coercer and illusionist clarity stacked, and had my items (I get 65 mana regen in combat on my own) I still would not be able to out DPS the Monks. Reason being is, I cant cast that fast. On all these ice immune mobs, Im chaining Ball of Fire, Ball of Flames, Immolation, Flamestrike (all adept 3) and I'm not running out of power. I simply can not cast fast enough due to recast timers and casting timers to keep up with their DPS. <div></div>

<P>As a Guardian I like the way wizards are now, it was getting kinda embarrasing getting out dps'd by everyone but the lazy [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] priests. </P> <P>And as far as the CL fight goes it's straight out wrong to get out dps'd by the Main Tank. Especially when there were 2 other guardians on that raid, making half my damage skills unavailable. Worse still when the mob is slashing immune, making my Prismatic unavailable. That, and the fact that my only concern is taunts and not damage makes me want to laugh at Nibiuno; which i do daily =(</P> <P>I notice on the last patch that they made mobs who were immune to one sort of damage and resistant to the other be less restrictive for weapon choices. It's good that they look out for the melee dps, it's just a shame that they couldn't give you guys a Fire Comet or some [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] for the 9/10 mobs that are ice immune.</P><p>Message Edited by Tankzem on <span class=date_text>05-05-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:51 AM</span>
I say we make our scouts toss Cold debuff poisons on some of these mobs. Not that it'll help...at all... What's worse is I told my wife to roll wizard and not warlock... I'm a [Removed for Content]. <div></div>
