<DIV>Has anyone else noticed root spells being less effective after the patch?</DIV> <DIV>I'm level 39 now and I've been soloing quests in Feerott lately. I've noticed something since this last patch; before the patch I used to be able to root, and get off two to three spells before needing to root again. I was very rarly resisted with rooting if at all. Now after the patch I get resisted a lot more often, and many times the root will break after I get 1 spell off. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Another thing I have noticed since the patch is that when I do get hit I get inturrupted a lot more. my depart spell is only supposed to be half a second - yet twice now I have died becuase it got inturrupted multiple times, and a third time it went off but I didn't go anywhere and died again... (I think that last one may have been caused by lag though in all fairness).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So has anyone noticed the same thing or is it just me?</DIV>

I've always thought our roots completely suck until you get Ring of Cold, and its been working great for me, same as always.

I too, have been doing a lot of Feerott multi mob soloing, and havn't noticed a huge change in roots. Though, it should be noted, i use roots to park and rarly nuke then when they are rooted. So that's just a differance in play style. If you say thier breaking more, I totaly believe you, as it was even mentoned on Test this was happening. On the subject of Intrrupts, this is happening a lot more. I noticed this right away as I always let the mob beat on me as I'm nuking it down. I do use stifles, but thats only stoping ther specials. I'm even being intrrupted when the mob swings and misses or my armor absorbs the blow. I'm stumped. <div></div>

I think so too. Ring of Cold is getting resisted a bit more for me. And as for Truss...it used to hold the mob rooted for 7 sec or so after breaking due to dmg. Now on quite a few mobs it will only hold the mob for 1 sec or so after doing dmg to it. Funny, patch claims to have made the roots better...instead they get hit with a nerf.

<P>Have to totally agree with OP on this one! :smileymad:</P> <P>I thought I was very lucky to get a master spell tether and was looking forward to this fix as it would make tether my main root. LOL.</P> <P>It is working worse now than it did before. Sure i can see the little icon in my maintained spells window, but so what. Before, even though it never held it certainly held longer than it does now.</P>

Prepatch mobs stayed held a tad longer with my regular roots. Ring of Cold seems normal to me. As long as you dont land any damage spells on the mob the roots last longer but if you have them dotted or keep hitting them with DD spells they break faster than before.

roots seem to be working very well for me. with tether and FM i can keep MOB rooted 50% of the time while hitting it with immo, icy coil, incinerate, bof and wis. one extra root after immo makes sure it stays in place <div></div>
