seems like fiery surge vital flow and ice comet give the best gains through AD3 but ideally you'll proly want to upgrade everything before the expansion

Wow, I really dont know where to begin here, because there are so many skills I wanted at adept 3 and I think are extremely useful, but I'll give you an idea of the most important. I'll also give you the stats on the spells I have, just keep in mind that as I am 50, I may generally have a higher number than you would have if youre not 50.

Ice Comet - No brainer, highest nuke in game, Adept 3 does 2992 - 3657

Piercing Icicles - Get it at 40, so probably should be your first, solo target dot and debuff, upgrade to Icy coil, must have spell. Adept 3 inflict 295-361 damage, dot for 70-85 every 4 sec, and decreases mitigation of heat and cold by 1105

Icy Wind - The AE version of piercing icicles, upgrade to freezing wind, you get this 60% into level 48. Use this every fight with piercing icicles, even on single targets as it decreases heat and cold mitigation making your nukes hit harder (only exception is with an enchanter, this will break mezz as it is a dot) Adept 3 76-93 damage, dots 52-64 every 4 sec, decreases heat and cold mitigation by 1205

Fiery Surge - This is your mana feed spell that stuns you. It gives a lot more than essential intromission and it is a must have spell. I believe this was the largest improvement of all spells. In Master 1 it costs 160 of your mana to feed 378 to your target. I believe Adept 3 was 327 fed to target.

Essential Intromission - Mana feed that doesnt stun you. I usually cast this before Fiery Surge so the timer runs out around the time I'm unstunned. Adept 3 costs you 84 hp and feeds 145 mana to the target.

Vital Flow - Our "manastone" spell, but at adept 3 its far better than manastone. Costs us 421 hp, but gives us 321 mana back at adept 3.

Vitalic Harvest - Our mana replenishment spell that stuns us. Doesn't cost any hp, just the stun, and at adept 3 gives us back 304 mana.

Those are the big ones, that will most benefit us at Adept 3. Fiery Pulse is a good one, but they just halved the damage of it, so I'll have to see if its still as useful. If you plan to raid a lot, you may want to consider your group buffs and resists like Augmentation, Hand of the Tyrant, Icebound gift, but those arent as necessary as the first ones I mentioned. If you have any questions about other spells, can ask me or send me a tell in game.

Very nice post falck. Thank you.

Nice post.

I would like to clarify on Icy Wind.

It will not break mez if you cast it AFTER the chanter mezzed his target. The mezzed target will be ignored while the rest in the encounter will be debuffed and DOTed.

It will break mez if you cast it BEFORE the chanter mezzed his target. The DOT will keep on breaking mez.

Message Edited by strateus on 04-20-2005 05:32 PM
I agree with Falc but i have one comment You will receive a training option to Fiery Surge (if you pick it) that has a better ratio (that the original at app4 dont know adept3) and halfs you stunn time. This is extreamly usfull in any situation that forces you to feed your group/raid members. The stunn time for the original Fiery Surge is 12 sec and for the training option is 6sec. That leaves 6 sec that you can do other stuff... debuff, nuke or flee Dont underestimate those 6 sec...
I heard that that training verison of the spell Efflux is an adept 2 quality spell.

Anyone have the data to compare Fiery Surge adept 3 and Efflux (training version).

BTW great post.

You can cancel a DoT from a mob that's being mezzed by right clicking the maintained spell icon and cancelling it. Hope that answers your question.
