<DIV>Test Server Update #6<BR>- Paralyze now takes 1 second to cast, the maximum stun duration has been increased to 6 seconds, and the reuse timer has been increased to 180 seconds.<BR> <BR>The 1 sec cast time and the 50% extra time duration are good... but 180 sec recast time...<BR>What do you guys think about this change?</DIV>

Therefore increasing the re-cast time doesn't really matter. It is a good change. :smileyhappy:</DIV>

I think it's a great change. I have been having trouble with mobs in perma, because I haven't been able to cast any kind of stun on them if I drew aggro, so this is definitely a most welcome change. It makes me feel that little bit safer. I do think the 180 sec recast time is a bit excessive and 45 secs would be more reasonable. I only use a stun now when I pull aggro or if some other emergency crops up like the tank's hp bar dropping to red, so it's most definitely a once a fight thing to use. On average it takes maybe 30 secs to kill a ^^mob, with maybe a 45 sec turn around between mobs. The 180 sec recast on the stun will mean that I will be basically defenseless against aggro for 4 pulls after I use the stun, which will be a bit annoying, but I guess I can adapt to that. I agree, 180 seconds seems a bit long. However, with a 4 second cast time it was equavalent to a 1,000,000,000,000 second recast time - since I never used it. So in that respect I guess we can view it as them having reduced the recast time to 180 seconds.
I am not high enough to use this yet. But if it is like freeze, the recast time will be very bad. Right now I can only solo certain root resistant mobs because i can repeatedly freeze them during a battle and then recast root. Or for mobs with a lot of hit points i need to reroot simply because that timer runs out. Without freeze they get to me before i can cast root. If I can only freeze(paralyse) them only once during a battlee, I cannot win . This will, I suspect, have a major negative effect. But as I said I'm not up to that level yet... <div></div>

The main use of Wizard stuns is to either a) interrupt casting or b) stop a mob from hitting you so a tank can taunt it off. A stun that takes 4 seconds to cast is useless because it will likely be interrupted if the mob is beating on you and, if it's not, whatever the mob is casting that you were trying to stop will be complete by the time your stun gets off.</P> <P>Even with a 3 minute recast, this will still be a LOT more useful than when it had a 4 second cast time. Infinitely more useful. I took this spell off the bar and didn't bother even stunning unless the mob was low enough level to use blazing intimidation on it because the 4 second cast on paralyze was so... stupid.</P> <P> </P> <P>Now just lower the stun times on our Harvest line plz <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </P>
