<DIV>Just a few observations, see what the rest of you have experienced...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My alt is a 23 wizard and I've noticed that while soloing single mobs, two factors seem to weigh heavily whether or not a root will hold. I have Adept3 Frozen Manacles and Freeze and I alternate between them to keep the mob rooted. It seems that the first time I use FM or F (like either after just logging in, or after some downtime), they almost always root really well. In fact, I can usually nuke even high lvl mobs to death without them ever unrooting.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But if I do several in a row, even though I have full power and health, I noticed that rooting becomes increasingly unreliable -- mobs either resist or break it sooner after casting (even immediately). (Or I get several fizzles in a row. :smileymad: ) </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've also noticed that proximity to the mob seems to affect root success. The farther away I stand from a mob while they're rooted seems to proportionally increase the success of them staying rooted. (Not always, but often.) For example, if I FM a mob right at the edge of the effect range, then immediately back up a ways afterwards, they seem to stay rooted a lot longer and more consistently. The way I think about it is, if the monster can see you right in front of them, it pisses them off so much that they break out sooner. :smileyhappy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A related observation is that if I use several of the same spells in a row (even w/ the same mob types), fizzles and resists seem to increase more with each use, even if I have full power/health. This behavior has been consistent regardless of my lvl. I wonder if this behavior was programmed in on purpose...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Have any of you noticed this too, or is it just my own private delusion?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
