BoF v WIS

<DIV><img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I recently got the upgrade from BoF to WIS and from examining it, it only does a few more points of damage.  BoF Adept I for me (lvl 30 wiz) was around 365-550, and WIS is only 370-556.  Can this be right?  I thought WIS was supposed to be a significant upgrade, not just a change from fire dmg to ice dmg.  Does it take a few lvls to kick in or should I use the /repick option?</DIV>

<P>After i maxed out both, the difference is about 70 damage (for ~18 more power) more from icespear than adetp3 bofire.</P> <P>For me the reason i wanted to pick that one wasnt the little damage rather than the damage type.</P>

<DIV>I have Westfends Ice Spear if thats what you are speaking of, i still use it at my level.  I do 495 to 743 pnts of damage.  And you have to remember, BoFire is Adept3 where as Westfends is Adept2.  I use it over my adept3 BoFire as a secondary DD because it hits for a little more with both greyed.  BoFire does 447 to 670.  It is a little stronger and is an upgrade becuase even with BoFire Adept3, the Adept2 beats it.</DIV>

WIS doesnt get another upgrade as it is no longer on the timer as BoFlames. chilling wind does get upgraded though to freezing wind in your low 30s and at app1 is nearly as good as  chilling wind adept 3 and at adept 1 is quite a bit better.</span><div></div>
