No posts about Ice Flame (Bloodlines Spell) yet?

Heya, wondered no one yet wrote about this nifty Ice+Heat DD which can be bought from the new npcs by the waterfall in Nektulos Forest. At App2 it does 600+dmg, recast is 30sec, casting time 2sec, required skill 175, maxes at 225. Does not share timer with anything <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> I'm drooling about its little brother adept3 <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Anyone has it already?

I bought the app4 today. Ice Flame-Deals instant cold and heat damage and greatly slows movement speed for a short time (68% speed decrease for 4 secs). At lvl 44, it inflicts 369 and 350 damage which is not too shabby. It's a pretty decent DD, but the recast time of 30 seconds is just strange. It's almost like it's supposed to be a stun, since it has a long recast timer like our stuns. I haven't really tested it out yet, but I am looking forward to using it. I assume it would be something to lead off with to slow a mob down and save your real stun for when you pull aggro.

I actually bought mine off the broker. I was really surprised to see the spell, having never heard of it, but immediately bought it since the description sounded interesting. I think you may be able to purchase the app2 of an npc, but unsure how that works. I haven't tried the new zones yet. I have the app4, which is player crafted, so maybe check around the crafting channels and see if any sages will make you it.

You would need to purchase the expansion pack first as the spell is a reward for completing a series of quests inside the Tombs of Night. After earning a trust with either side of the conflict you are offered to buy new crafting books and armor and spells at the nearby npc merchant. All spells come in app2 flavor there for a measly 78sp I recall. And among the various new crafting books there are tomes with knowledge about Ancient K'Lorn Magic from which those new spell come from and which Sages can scribe and make/upgrade up to adept3 version.

Fyi...the sage books are for sale at the wholesaler, so...no faction is required, just a level 35sage to make it.  The books are tradeable as well, so I don't believe the sage needs the expansion either.

I got the APP IV off the broker yesterday. It's an interesting spell, kindda like a Ball of Flames every 30 sec with lower power cost and a very short duration snare. The really bad thing about this spell is the extremely short range, I haven't seen any of my nukes having a range this short, I practically have to wait till the mob is on top of me to cast it. Nice animation...but that range needs to be increased.

At lvl 50 and adept3 its 440 heat and cold dmg approximately, also what everyone is forgetting to mention it that it slows the taregt by 68%, so its a great snare although short duration

<P>Since it has to be almost on top of you to cast it is little help that it happens to have snare effect.</P> <P>I was killing blue 35-37 mobs</P> <P>At level 38 I got this spell at adept 3 and went to feerrot to level.  I went BoFL, IceFlame, Icespear, and if the creature was still alive BoFL one more time.  Killed lizards, dragonflys snakes and flowers that way.  Went from 38 and10% to 39 and 3% in 6 hours.</P> <P>It is a nice extra,  I can do 3k damage in 8 seconds at level 38.</P> <P>Now at level 39 immolation in the mix the lowest level spell I have on bar is Breath of tyrant and I only use it in teh rare instance when everything just happens to be off cycle.</P>

Yes, you can buy it off the broker, or just have a sage you know make it for you .. and no you don't have to complete the quests <div></div>

HO'ed: WIS + Ice Flame = half dead critter at level 38; and with the snare effect you have time to root (or reroot) before the critter has time to reach you. I havn't used HO's in a very long time, and found this funny <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> It was a good combo as I didn't even have to place my stun in the cycle. <div></div>
