<DIV>I have played this class for a long time and i find it harder too solo in this game then others, with the roots not holding or getting stuned all the time when hit. it would be nice not to die so much lol :smileyvery-happy:</DIV>

<DIV>Yeah, I know they try to talk about how you can solo in this game, but as a level 28 wizard, I don't even bother to try. If I don't have a healer and tank from my guild logging on, there's no point in going out. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But to be honest, I'm ok with that. I know some people prefer soloing and some people have time constraints, but I appreciate the fact that the combat in the game emphasizes being in a group. I kinda like how each member of the group has a role to play. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Coming from SWG, it's a welcome change. Grouping was completely irrelevant in that game. With some good buffs, you could take on the hardest stuff in the game all by yourself. That's just silly.</DIV><p>Message Edited by LohanGalten on <span class=date_text>03-07-2005</span> <span class=time_text>01:19 AM</span>

<DIV>at level 28 you should be able to solo turtles, beetles, badgers and fairies around the docks in EL. i never had a problem with those MOBs and if you speak to all the NPCs around the docks you should get a few kill x number of x quests which give reasonable rewards.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>if you dont have EL access yet i would suggest getting it. its the best place for you to solo for the next few levels.</DIV>
<DIV>Also at lvl 28 I was able to solo the orcs in Zek. They give nice loot, torques and skulls sell for ~46-48s and their meat sells for almost 6s. This is at Qeynos Harbor. I would die once in awhile, but you are close to the docks you can run if you want, I just never liked to run. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<DIV>Any tips for at 26? I had been doing the skellies (troopers, etc) in TS near the ruins of karana, but they are getting a little too blue. I tried a turtle in EL, but I think i'm just a little too low for that yet. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And yeah, I have found soloing as a wizard "trickier" than as a guardian, but when you get it down it's much more rewarding. I tried a lot of variations on casting order and whatnot, and I think I have my pattern down pat. It's all about experimentation... which is great, because that tactical nature doesn't exist for a lot of other classes. It's fun stuff.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Challenge is good, people... it's a large component of what makes games fun. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<DIV><FONT color=#ffffff>It's fun? With the new loot coming in this patch, and the bumped exp gain, it might even be worthwhile at the same time. I know I'm enjoying the drops and exp in the new preorder zone.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>Oh yeah, I am not having any problems killing mobs... what I can't seem to find are mobs that go down nice but still give decent exp (by which I mean .4 or .5% per kill... I believe in exp per hour, not per kill <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />). I know they are out there, just haven't looked in the right place yet.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For what it's worth, this how my usual battles go: frozen manacles -> freezing whorl -> incinerate -> (if it's a high yellow I'll back up and let that eat at it a bit and wait for root to break, otherwise I go right into) -> arcane auger -> ball of fire -> freeze -> ice spike. If root breaks too too early, or if I'm letting root break first, I'll hit the freeze first to allow BoFi to cast.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The above will kill all but the level 27 skels around ruins of karana. They need an extra ice spike to take care of that last 5% life. Though that was at 25... probably wouldn't need the second spike now at 26, but the exp/hour there just isn't as good anymore so I probably won't hang around to find out.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you can get in deep enough to get a bead on an arisen inducer or evoker... well, it's just candy exp. BoFi + freeze + ice spike kills 'em dead and fast. Don't even need to pop the HO. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Get an unlucky resist in there, though, and it can hurt having your own nukes tossed back at you. That only ever happened once to me.</DIV>
