Hi,I´m trying to grind writs, both for me and our guildlvl. The problem is that this guy in the mage tower in nfp is just giving me writs for mobs in runnyeye. It`s possible for me to do these writs, but it takes a lot of my time. My guild isn`t big enough to form a runny group (yet) and so I have to search for other people everytime. Of course these people don`t want to camp the spot with my mobs for 30 minutes and so I will need one or two more journeys to runny to complete my actual writ (warboars). I do not think I will take warboars again. It would be great if someone could tell me which writ is the best for the mage faction in the early 30`s. It could spare me a lot of time (trying to get out which mob is the one which is most frequently killed in runny). thanksJörg

I usually go for Pitmasters, they're a bit easier to find imo.

I try to gain faction fpr the mage guild too, but all I get is runny mobs. What`s the name of your zek-quest? I will try get it (how often do you usually have to delcine untill you get it?). I really like zek. JörgPS: I just went to north freeport and tried it over and over again...nothing but runnyeye. Might it be that you`re frm Queynos? As far as I can see there are four different writs available to me and they`re all about runny mobs. I even tried to do the runyeye-brawler quest outside runnyeye...but they do not count as long as you`re not within runny. It`s pretty annoying, because I am one of the patrons of my guild and juts can`t do writs on a regular basis. It needs alot of time to find people for runny and you just can`t say "ups, just finished my city task. I will port homewards and get a new one. brb <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ). Does anyone know which level is needed in order to "grind" city tasks for the freeport mages?<p>Message Edited by Anachronist on <span class=date_text>03-03-2005</span> <span class=time_text>09:38 AM</span>

<DIV>The one I have now (for the deer) is Stark Ultilatrism (spelled that wrong I'm sure). The one with orcs was called Stop the Bruisers, I believe.</DIV>

<DIV>The reason (I believe) you're getting Runnyeye and your counterpart there is getting Zek is because he is in Qeynos. For whatever reason, the two differ in that way. Perhaps it is just me, but I've noted the "good side" has it a bit easier from time to time in this arena. As an aside, I believe the DEVs should address the difficulty of the Arcane Science writs in Freeport. Nearly every other faction has at least one soloable writ, per level section advancement. The same cannot be said of AS, which is especially disappointing in light of the fact Mages, Wizards, Necros ..spellcasters in general are the most interested in opening those rewards. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have a level 29 Wizard and I have a choice between Deathbloom Treants, Thexian Ruffians, Demented Fiends, or Nightfall Mystics. The only one of these choices I haven't tried is the Demented Fiends. However, that is just a matter of practicality - as I'd prefer to not have to sneak past the entire map each day multiple times to do the writs. Thexians are the least difficult of all choices presented, but only when you're lucky enough to find a few ungrouped here and there. Most of them, you will find, are either in groups of 4 or heroic encounters. The time consumption involved over searching for suitable targets prevents me from spending enough time to get all 16 I need in a single day.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Considering you have to do (as last accurately reported) 140-150 writs per stage of faction reward unlock ...this could prove to be quite aggravating. Ultimately, you are /required/ to enlist a friend or two in order to advance your character in this way. I find that very disappointing. I really don't mind difficulty and the chance of failure, but when failure is a certainty or so many obstacles are there as to make the game frustrating... I think the component should be examined and fixed.</DIV>

Hi,I`ve found this amazing source for city tasks, and yes apparently the ones who wish to do writs for the arcane science will have a very hard time.http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/layouts/quests_results.php?na=1&citytask=1I will start a thread about t in a more populated and fitting section of the forum and offer the url here (in case someone is interested <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ). <DIV>Ahhh...the Freeport side. I didn't see anything about that in the original post, sorry. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Wizard, warlock, class doesn't matter for writs...and Qeynos does have it's share of folk who are afraid of fire and therefore follow the ways of poison and disease. </DIV>

<DIV>If there is anyone who shares my opinion that the city tasks need some balancing, it would be great, if he or she could post in the thread I presented the url for in my post above. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>thank you <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Jörg</DIV>

<DIV>You will find all city tasks here:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><A href="http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/layouts/quests_results.php?na=1&citytask=1" target=_blank>http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/layouts/quests_results.php?na=1&citytask=1</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You will find information about the start NPC and zone, the monster involved, needed level and the provided reward for completing the quest. As long as you`re not picky about the faction you want to do writs for, you should be happy with it <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Jörg</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
