<DIV>with all the crying about warlocks being superior dmg it appears they are putting devistation on a 45 second timer now. warlocks will still be able to out dmg wizards, and without the focus of the posts trying to improve your class - you all remain the same. gg</DIV>

<DIV>Funny I can remember serveral posts saying we needed a buff not a Warlock nerf.</DIV>

wizards and warlocks are both excellent classes that have their niches in any group or raiding guild. Wizards have the most excellent mana feeds of any class and can pound single target dps very well. Their group buffs are also quite nice and icebound gift is great as well, not to mention some of their single target buffs. I am a level 50 Warlock but i have 2boxed a level 50 Wizard as well on raids every now and then so I know the differences and the good and bad between a Warlock and a Wizard. The bottom line is to just enjoy your class and understand that you will always have certain strong points that no other class can contest with. Warlocks and Wizards are both essential classes and are both the highest dps of any class and will remain that way. We don't need any nerfs and we probly won't ever see any. Just keep on playin folks, kill Darathar, get yer prismatic and watch the credits roll by.

Hmm. Actually, Warlocks and Wizards can still be out-damaged over time by certain tanks, on a single target. This fact alone means they will have to do yet more retuning. I'd like to think that they plan to take a good, hard look at the soloability of the two classes.

<DIV> <DIV>Perhaps you should take a look at the level 50 spells now that Devastations timer has been put at 45s...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Devastation = 500 initial + 500 damage/tick x4 ticks = 2500 damage</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Wonderful right? Except in a raid multiple warlocks are useless. The DoT doesn't stack, and you're unable to have the same spell cast on the mob until the duration of the first is finished. The same thing applies to the other big nukes, like BSS, DD, and anything with a DoT component.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The bottom line is that it becomes wasteful to have multiple Warlocks in a raid because they can't nuke at the same time. Do Wizzies have this problem? Are you not allowed to cast Ice Comet until 18s+ after the last one landed? No. On anything up to a medium sized encounter it'd be more efficient to have 2~3 Wizzies as opposed to 2~3 Warlocks.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And as for the constant complaints about how Warlocks outtdamage Wizzies throughout 1-50 - no one class constantly stays ontop in terms of DPS. The spell progression is different for everyone and there are times where Wizzies get their new nuke and the Warlock is still stuck spamming DD. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm also hearing alot on these forums that fear is infinitely more useful than any root because roots are buggy and break easily. You realize that sometimes fear will appear in maintained bar but the mob will keep running at me, that sometimes the running away mob breaks the encounter, and that a slew of other problems occur? Warlocks have just as many problems with their solo spell as you. Both of these issues need to be addressed, as opposed to just weakening Fears or making roots unbreakable.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The problem is that people get too caught up with the notion that their class should be best or should do something better than someone else - they ignore the fundamental problems with their job in the first place. Swinging the nerf bat at another class doesn't neccesarily mean the problems been fixed, and I wish people would realize that...and if you want to REALLY see a DPS discrepancy in subclasses meander on over to the Ranger board.</DIV></DIV>

Hmm. You seem to be inflating the duration of the spell a bit. It's not four "ticks". It is in fact four spans of 1.5 seconds each, totalling six seconds. So, unless you know of a raid party that has over seven Warlocks, it's not going to be a problem.

<DIV>Fact remains.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It is under all circumstances better to have 2 wizards and 2 warlocks in a raid than 4 wizards or 4 warlocks.</DIV> <DIV>It is under all circumstances better to have 1 wizard and 1 warlock in a group than 2 wizards or 2 warlocks.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Of course given that all are of similar level and equipment.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2 wizards will face the same fact as 2 warlocks, their DoT and debuff spells don't stack. Their buffs don't stack. If the more powerful mage casts a spell with a DoT effect the lower will be cancelled.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Don't fear the warlock taking our places, instead do what I normally do when I form groups, take one of each. We complement eachother very well.</DIV>

<DIV>Lame I was always happy to get a warlock in the group to own everything with their crazy AOE, because mine are completly worthless. I was hoping for wizards aoe to be fixed a bit, not warlocks to get nerfed >_< Have we not suffered enough pain lol we're both sorcerer classes. We needs to stick together.</DIV>
Do we ever compliment eachother well. I was in a group the other day with a warlock of my level (29) and it was almost sickening seeing the damage we were putting out.

So don't come here complaining about a nerf. When the numbers started coming out, some could see, warlocks were over powered, and said, yeah, Sony will change that soon enough. That's not asking for a nerf on warlocks, thats being knowledgable.</P> <P>Though some did ask for nerfs, and shame on them.</P>

Ya, I can not land any Ice Comets on some X4 mobs at all, doesn't say it gets resisted, doesn't say it hits, It just casts and takes my power and nothing... heh, that for sure needs to be fixed <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

I learned that having a Wizard AND a Warlock in a group makes the group STRONGER. Yea it seems they are a bit higher in the damage output but I'm not complaining nor am I not getting invites to groups. I think its great that they got an update as well as we did. Seems that some people can never be happy.
