This keeps happening to me. I root a mob, back away, and start to nuke. Suddenly, the rooted mob is on top of me, with absolutely no movement. I've noticed this consistently in hilly areas, particulary in Zek and EL, which leads me to believe that the game thinks that the mob is being held back by terrain and then ports it on top of me.

<DIV>I have this problem mostly if the mob is on a hill or slope. Very annoying when it happens.</DIV>

<DIV>I think its actually just lag, you think you rooted the mob way over yonder and when the server catches you up you realise the mob was right next to you instead.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Its also possible to root landed but the mob broke free ahead of time and you didnt see the mob run toward you because of lag.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have noticed this happening and thats what I put it down to.</DIV>

And I never experience this type of lag except when a mob is rooted in a hilly area.

Noticed this as well. Generally the mob ends up right on top of you (literally). I also see it happen when soloing with my guardian, cept theres obviously no rooting being done, the mob however will constantly stay right on top of me, even when i move back it just pops up in my space. My guess is its a minor bug, used to see warping mobs in EQ all the time so i cant say im really surprised.

<DIV>Lag can happen on the highest of systems... because your computer isn't the only link in the chain.  The servers themselves can have latency and packet loss issues.  I notice this in TS... everything will be fine, but I head there, particularly during peak times, and I'm getting aborted or nonexistant cast bars, and spells stuck in queue for no reason.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, in general fighting on hills is buggy... I always hated tanking on a hill with my guardian, because the mobs invariably discard proximity coding and they will stand right inside your character model.  The problem persists even if you pull them onto flat land afterwards.  </DIV>

<DIV>This is a bug, go root a wolf  in Rivervale near the zone in to the right.  Almost always happens there   It's really Easy to prove once you have ring of Cold sence it gives you a timer on the maintained spell bar with a count down and the mob will still poof on you and still be rooted</DIV>
