Best 2 Spells level 20-29 to make Adept III?

<DIV>I vote Ball of Fire and unknown.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm Level 21 and haven't heard much speak about the higher level spells.  What is Plasmatic Pulse?  Update to BoT?  Is it worth it to have 6 levels of Adept 3 BoT?  Will you have enough money by then to buy another Palladium?  Will you harvest enough to find another one?  And I speak from experience, having the Adept 3 dot/debuff, is way up there.  Adept 3 Freezing Whorl is just as important as Adept 3 Blaze.  But do you want to wait until level 29 to be able to scribe the new Icy Coil?  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'd be happier scribing my adept 3 BoT now.  Buy a Palladium before 23 and make Ball.  But another at 27, if need be.  </DIV>

<DIV>As a quick update, I scribed both Adept 3 Chilling Wind and Adept 3 Breath of the Tyrant yesterday at level 21, upgrading from Adept 1 versions of both spells.  Unfortunately, I cannot report any signficant change in damage for either spell at this point, which I can only attribute to not having gained enough skill points beyond the minimum required to use the spell.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I do not plan on upgrading Lightning Flash to Adept 3, as the only significant use I've ever had for AoE Damage was against groups of green/grey encounters.  With a blue or white encounter, of course one will be rooted while the other is taken care of.  And you're not going to risk breaking root for some wimpy damage of an AoE.   I cannot imagine that the possible chance of an extra dot landing would be signficiant enough to upgrade this spell when I already have Adept 3 versions of the important dot/debuff spells.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Of course, I'll be waiting with the Ball of Fire Adept 3 when I hit 23, even if my results so far don't seem to indicate a major immediate improvement bah =)</DIV>

I would upgrade the spells in the following order:BoF, Icy Coil, BoT, Essence Harvest, then maybe Chilling Wind and Lighting Flash or Blazing Intimidation.From what I can tell, Plasmatic Pulse is useless. Description should read does almost no heat damage and a very small amount of magic damage over time and also takes forever to cast. Pyre doesn't compare to Lightning flash. The buffs might be worth updating. Anyone updated these and noticed a significant improvement?

The obvious choice as many others have pointed out is Ball of Fire, my next selection would have been icy coil but the sage books for lvl 28-29 spells are broken (no coil, no essence harvest). I happened upon 3 rare mines and had already bought BoF Adept III. I upgraded Icy Wind and Lighting Flash cause i love to AoE, and then chose plasmatic pulse because it sets up a decent damage trigger (have had it hit up to 190) for our HO's. I didn't opt for Breath of the Tyrant cause there isn't a whole lotta difference between the adept I and III versions as far as i can tell. My Friends adept III breath only does about 10 more damage on average and he's one lvl lower. Hope this Helps.

It seems in order to make the most of upgraded spells are to upgrade the ones that DO NOT do damage...for instance..you spent 10g on upgrading blaze to adept3...lvl 25 and you don't use it at all. Now if you upgrade Painful med to adept 3...you'll be using that for a [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] long time, if not the whole game; at adept 1 lvl 25, it restores 9% mana...I have yet to get adept 3. Also invisibility might be a good one, however we get a new one @ lvl 31 I believe.
