<DIV>Im a level 23 wizzy, and my intelligence is only 80, high elf by the way.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I inspect most all wizards I pass because I worry this is very low... i see alot of people around my level with 90 intelligence... <BR>I have spoken with alot of people and the general reply i get is that it wont matter in the long run thanks to high int items and rare drops etc.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just wondering what everyones opinion is... does it matter that much?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>PS. Haven't finished the AQ yet dunno if those items give me more.</DIV>

Hah, I laugh at your concerns.I have an int of 58 at lvl 21, we Barbarian mages can carry more!

At 23 I had 96, at 24 I hit 100 self buffed int.Id worry more about power then int. At 24 I have 886 power which helps a lot.

<DIV>Kerra Wizard - 70int and 603 power at 20 - with pretty crappy gear.  The main difference is that those will higher power pools will be able to solo mobs with more HP.  In a group, you regen w/ painful at the same rate, you just start a little earlier.</DIV>

hmm i have 58 INT at Lev 26never had a problem.....if you know what yur doing you can still unleash devastation without bottoming out your mana.if you have 90+ and are running out....yur prolly using app1 spells or are pulling aggro....either of those is cause for a spanking.

Whats the Use of INT...does it directly relate to the amount of power? or does it relate to effectiveness of spells?

<DIV><FONT size=2>I heard from someone that your Int helps boost the power of your spells. Anyone care to verify if this is true?</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2>Currently have 88 int. and 600-something power with boosts (don't remember exactly, I'm at work). Equipment isn't so great either. :smileysad: I'm poor. Hehe.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>107 int, lvl25, had that much since 22 or so. though im also a victim of the trait bug, my sk gets one evry 2 lvls and i didnt got one since 18 or so. well. gonna be fixed soon i hope :smileyvery-happy:</DIV> <DIV>sumeone asked what int actually good for:</DIV> <DIV>at lvl 25, 1 point of int adds ~4 power for me. also int affects ur dmg and how likely ur spells get resisted. basically, the more you have, the longer and harder you can nuke.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>though im really concernd about our class power pool, why does a guardian of same lvl only have like 100 power less then me, but triple the HP, i know his dmg is much lower and all, but cant they just add a modifier to spell cast cost and max power so it at least looks much? would make at least m very happy :smileyhappy:</DIV>

<DIV>Im at 102 base at level 20. I am a gnome wizard. INT does not only give you power, but it boosts your damage. Look under your skills. Go to Disruption. Thats the skill that boosts your damage. I am currently at 149/101. Also the above statment isn't fully correct, Wisdom is what determines resist for all magic.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><A href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/pplayer.vm?characterId=132976115" target=_blank>http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/pplayer.vm?characterId=132976115</A></DIV><p>Message Edited by Langor on <span class=date_text>12-09-2004</span> <span class=time_text>08:51 AM</span>

<DIV>I've been mulling this over the last few days.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Do I want to have good int and good all round stats and be an all round, relatively high stat's wizard...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>or</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Do I want to have OMG excellent int and sacrifice other stats for the high int.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Then I thought...as a wizard, my job is to deal damage.  My survival depends on not getting agro.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So a smart wizard will never get agro from a mob and deal large amounts of damage at the same time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So I decided to go with extremely high int and sacrifice other stats, which is my primary reason why I wont be wearing the silver robe when I finish AQ6.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I guess it just comes down to exactly how you want to play.....each to their own I guess.</DIV>

<DIV>half of the AQ armor doesn't have any int on it at all.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm not wearing AQ6 robe, I bought one.</DIV> <DIV>AQ5 leggings are nice, one of the six I'll end up keeping.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What is your staff you are using?  If it isn't at least +6 int +25 power, then hunt around for a 1h primary and 1h secondary item that combined is greater than what your staff is.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That might help with your int....89 isn't that low compared to some level 24 wizzies I've seen (sub par 70 int).</DIV>

<DIV>You, know, crappy wizard robes for casters are the norm for EQ1, seems it's so for EQ2. I don't understand the logic behind it. Other classes, get chest pieces that are great. You seldom see a fighter chest piece that has stats they don't need, and they always have high AC ratings. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But mage robes? Forget about it. The often have little or no desirable stats untill you get higher in the game. It's sad really.</DIV>

<DIV>Until I bought my new robes this weekend just gone....at level 22 I was wearing the robe you get when you first become a wizard (and it was grey con to me at 22) simply because I was waiting for the AQ6 robe....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When I found out what the stats were, I immediately bought a new robe.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hopefully the mid 30's has a new robe....</DIV>

Only thing appreciable about int is how it affects your power pool. Damage increase is negligible to none, so too all who made erudite lolipops for uber l33t damage, har har.My 27 Barbarian Mage has 20 less power than my erudite group mate, and his top fireball was 376 while mine was 372. My int was 30 less, and I had a few more +power items than him.

Against A Defiled Cavalier(23-24) at L19 conned Red^^ I was resisted like 2/5 of the time with Blaze AdeptI and Ice Spike AdeptI.. Freezing Whorl landed maybe 1/2 time and Incinerate landed like 4/5 of the time.. Had about the same resists on the books in the Library which were also Red^^ at L19..
