After deleting the quest was it easy to get it back ? Afraid since i deleted research and components and i never got it back after.

did any other of you skip to the next npc giver, cant remember name atm, not in beta so cant look in journal.
He is in the next camp of pygmy's. Many people were skipping ahead to this step when the daino quest was bugged.

I have a step now to go see him but can not, but I dont think that is effecting this step but thought I would throw it out there.

Main problem I see with this part of the quest is if you fail at all, if you die then that causes problems.
When I first died and went back the shissara guards were targetable but the Main mob was no longer.
when I zoned and reset the zone, the mobs reset except for the npcs, so I had two Aillena, one was already there while another came running in.
Failed again and died after getting the icon to close the portal.
Once i ran back up she would not give me the icon again.
reset zone again, cleared all mobs again, and there was two Aillena again, got new icon closed portal but no update.
Boy was out of bubble. but nothing happen.
reset again, cleared again, had two aillena again but boy was not in bubble and portal had no graphic inside it.
it is like Aillena and the boy and the portal do not reset.

Almost the same for me, but i don't remember 2 ailenas after reseting (indeed i did not reset since instance is not saved i just exit and entered).

As far as i remember Boss is not agro at the beginning, you kill 3 shissars, ailena comes, 3 new shissars appear, you kill them, boss becomes agro, you kill it, you target portal and use "destroy portal"

Also If you check your spellbook you may still find the "destroy portal ability", at least on my toon i still have the ability.

On second run i think that ailenas and boy did nothing.

Like you Boy is out of his bubble.

I will probably try to delete it ...

Btw For the pygmees i have the same problem as you, since Nuwat moved during a quest i cannot speak to her. This happen because being stuck on deinos I moved to merinep and ninja-took the next part of the signature before being done with pygmees.

once you reach that room and enter the square area with the portal, Ailena runs in, 3 shissars appear, from the portal beams,and fan out in that area, they and the boss mob become argo at that moment ( trust me on this one is why I died the first time did not move away fast enough.)
Kill the shissars and finally the boss, talk to Ailena again go through a dialog and get the icon to close portal.
before you can 3 more shissars show up, fan out and be come argo.

I killed them, then went after portal, once portal is gone boy pops out of bubble.
and nothing else happened at that point, Ailena is still urging
me to close the portals and boy is says how much he does not feel good when you hail them.
at least this is how it went for me.

Delete quest and get it again, will take you to the part of entering the zone.

Do not damage portals. "Portal Collapse" is in your knowledge book. Close portal before you kill the last adds that pop. Again, do not damage the portal or it will bug out. They should make the portal unattackable, that is the bugged portion of it. I had the same problem as all of you until I figured this out.

Hum indeed the add were all dead when i decided to close the portal or/and my auto attack fired while i was closing.

Got the update, deleted quest, cleared instance till Ailena buffed me and asked to destroy portal.
Switched to singular focus, killed two lizzies, destroyed portal with ability ad killed last snake.

Portal hold two bufs that should normaly prevent it from being killed with usual attacks but i m not sure it works.

Good news! I've got a big change heading to Beta:
  • Shattered Seas: Temple of Doom - The Grey Gate Room event now resets fully, if zone refreshes, even if the player's quest has progressed.
I don't know when this fix will be on Beta, but it should be listed in the change list at that time.

Quite a few bugs, concerning the Temple of Doom signature quest, being squashed with the latest batch of changes:
  • Shattered Seas: Temple of Doom - Map regions are now highlighted for appropriate steps.
  • Shattered Seas: Temple of Doom - Diabo Va Thall no longer resets to an actor upon defeating the player.
  • Shattered Seas: Temple of Doom - Players who canceled the "Shissarian Codex" spells can now speak with Aillena Belzia to get them recast.
  • Shattered Seas: Temple of Doom - Portal to Luclin can no longer be defeated by any means, except the Portal Collapse spell.
I am not sure when these changes will be on Beta, but know that they are on their way. They should be included in the update notes at that time.

It seems to work now, necro just completed her timeline, it was much harder for her on the last boss of highkeep but for the rest she indeed went faster.

It is not a buff in that sense, Mortare. It is a special spell bar that shows up. Currently, it only has one spell in it, (more should be coming in the next few days). Sometimes, I have seen the portal spell take a while to populate in the spell bar. Other players have said that they found the spell in their knowledge book and dragged the spell icon to the spell bar.

True. Especially as the ability to close the portal is not put on the extra hotbar when you visit the researcher for the second time after you got booted from the instance. Luckily it is still in your knowledge book but it is quite confusing.

Also the snakes at the first ramp are mostly fighting under-surface, which means you cannot fight back but just die.

Currently we have to kill 6 shissar each having around 90 m hp.

They do zero damage (indeed a very modest 6000/sec), so for tanks and healer encounter is : OK afk 3mn -> push auto attack.

BTW: To make mob interesting give them some stone skin DR each 20%, and give them a decent DPS, high enough to be dangerous for a DPS .... indeed it should be high enough to kill a dps class that would not use roots or stuns etc ...

Managed to complete this with a raid geared pally and me (troub, potent 3/3, some overcharged and ethereals). The close portal ability is gained after the named and the first 3 shissar are defeated, then you have to kill 3 more shissar. The mobs show a debuff, but they don't seem to be debuffed. Pally said he was getting hit ultra hard, which made me cry a little but then he said "Hey are you crying?" and I said no but it was a lie.

Just did this last night with 98 Inquisitor (me) in BG Champions and 98 Paladin (wife) also in Champions.

The mechanics of the final fight seemed to be working though targeting the portal to use the spell on it was a hit and miss click fest.

The mobs, especially the Shissar Invaders, have far to many HP and, while they don't hit for a ton, they hit far to hard for most DPS classes to handle for as long as these fights last.

Looking through ACT each fight was 3 to 5 minutes.

The pally was taking pretty much all of the damage and she took 9 - 10 million damage over the fight. Not a big deal for our duo but that's a ton of healing for a solo/molo DPS class to have to come up with. Especially when you consider that they probably won't have the mit/avoid that a tank has so will be getting hit even harder.

Each of the invaders had around 75 million health. They didn't do anything special but considering that in our pairing the Inquisitor is the DPS that makes for some really long, boring, slugfests.

Honestly, for zones that are required to complete pretty much the only quests in the expansion and that claim to be targeted at solo these need a lot of toning down. Bring a 95 over in even cryptic with no merc and you're going to stall on the first dungeon even after all of the changes in the last week.

Just wanted to let you all know that Chrol has been working with the Shissar involved with the "Shattered Seas: Woken Scales" quest. The initial wave and secondary wave are getting some great attention!

After that, we'll be able to make the Shissar Codex spells perfect for defeating them.

I'm going to have to disagree with the plate wearers that say the Shissar don't hit that hard. The only way my illy can kill them (the first wave - I haven't made it to the second wave yet) is if he can keep them stunned and / or rooted. On my last fight, fighting only one Shissar, he hit me with 144K slashing, four times in 4 seconds (once per second) after a root broke. I died. The couple of times I failed before that one, I got almost 160K once per second for 3 seconds. I have managed to kill one of them so far, when the root/stun worked and he didn't slash me. I'm buffed to 100 but wearing mostly 4/3 gemmed ToV gear.

I killed one just standing next to it. He still hit me with 145K slashing 3 times in 3 seconds right before he died, but I managed to survive it. My best bet still seems to be "root" to avoid that slashing altogether though.

Killed the Shissar today as a 100 assassin with inq merc and about half 3/3 potent and half 1/1 dreadlord. Forced me to switch to a defensive spec and cycle my stuns, I honestly found it rather fun - I love solo/ duo challenges that aren't "kill 200 bags of hitpoints" or "one mistake and you die", though I can definitely see how some classes and gear levels would have difficulty with the current set-up.

As an aside: WTB Shissar plushies and illusions! Seriously, put them in the marketplace and I will buy ALL OF THEM.

I've only done this with my Inq paired with the wife's Pally so it wasn't all that difficult for us other than taking 5 minutes per mob to kill them all. Looking through my ACT logs afterwards though I was pretty sure that a lot of other classes are going to have trouble with this one.

They were hitting the Pally - in full tank spec going sword & board - for about 65k a pop. If you take out her mit, avoid, block then I figured they'd probably be hitting double that on most DPS classes. She also has well over 600k HP so it takes a lot of those hits to really register. I'm guessing most, non-raid geared, DPS/Utility classes aren't going to be close to that.

Even with the plate tank I had to heal, on average, 9 million damage per fight. If you double the amount per hit then that would mean that most DPS/Util classes are going to need around 18 mil of healing. Knowing how the generic healing mercs are there's no way they could keep up with that.

I'm assuming that these new temp spells they've got going in soon(tm) will alleviate a lot of this damage and maybe reduce the big bags of HP down to something a bit more reasonable. Hopefully they'll go in in time for us to get plenty of testing in so they can be tuned.

This with HP gear and AA set up for Dmg reductions/ Hp's / and Death Prevents.

Tried with a conjy Doable with Stoneskins.
Wizard Failed hard Merc could not heal not enough stuns.
Warlock Failed hard Merc could not heal Not enough stuns. (Managed to get named and the center shiz that only hits for 50-60k, the other 2 mobs hit for 150-200k a pop so a 400-600k hp mage goes down pretty fast with the mitigation issue, Mage shields are the biggest joke in the game.
Necro is doable, died a few times but was able to get it done.
Coercer Failed 2 seconds flat cannot solo

Tried with a few other classes - what needs to be done is Damage Decrease on the Mob, Reduce HP"S by half on the shissar adds.

Please don't increase the damage by too much, as some dps classes don't get enough control abilities to kill them from range (assassin), or make Belzia give you the hotbar before the first wave instead of after the first wave + boss.

tried this fight today. Alienna was in a room already with the boss and three shissars already attackable. Died on the first pull b/c pulled all four together. Second time pulled the boss first. Killed him. He didn't do much just stayed there and took beating. Then pulled shissar from the middle of the section. Invaders btw are twice heroic for solo. Intended? Took longer but I managed to kill him with a healer merc and a pet. I am a coercer. Didn't kill two others. Couldn't. They kept smacking me hard. Is there special clicky or something to reduce their hp or damage that they inflict? This fight does have nothing in term of script. Four mobs with nothing to do. To just get them one by one? Why not then get them appear one after another rather four of them staying there looking pretty with no purpose.
Every boss in this particular instance looks like just tank and spank with way too high hp.

Highhold is more interesting in terms of a script.

I am not sure when Chrol's changes are going to hit Beta, but there is definitely script with them, and there is indeed some zone object interaction that will help you with the Akhevan and the first wave of Shissar fight.

I submitted the following change today, too:
  • Shattered Seas: Temple of Doom - All 6 "Shissarian Codex" spells are now granted to the player in order to help defeat the Shissar attackers and close the Luclin portal.
I don't know when it will be on Beta, but it should be listed in the update notes at that time.
